The Opportunity

Coton House Farm, a recently refurbished countryside wedding venue in Lichfield, lacked any pre-existing branding or digital footprint. It needed a thorough marketing and branding strategy to highlight the venue’s distinctive characteristics and offerings to couples seeking their dream wedding venue.

The goal was to establish an approachable brand identity and an informative, user-friendly website that would drive show-around bookings and ultimately increase the number of weddings at the venue.

The Answer

Straightforward began by developing a complete brand identity for Coton House Farm. We focused on creating a rustic look and feel, incorporating serif fonts and a muted colour palette of slate blue, grey-greens, and dusty pinks. Hand-drawn elements of farming equipment and the Staffordshire knot, symbolising ‘tying the knot’, were also included to create a unique and memorable brand.

Initially constrained by budget, we started out developing a single-page website. However, as the venue expanded and evolved, we have grown the website to over 50 pages, providing couples with all the necessary information when considering the venue.

The website showcases the venue’s rural aesthetic through engaging copywriting, captivating photography, and immersive 3D Matterport tours. Coton House Farm was keen on offering full transparency of the venue and services, publishing availability dates, pricing, food and menu options, and enabling booking show-arounds via Calendly.

Show-around bookings have risen to over 100 per month, and cancellations and no-shows were minimised by sending out automated email and text reminders.

The Outcome

Coton House Farm has received positive feedback from numerous couples, who find the website easy to use and appreciate the wealth of information available. Our marketing efforts have proven successful, with one in three couples booking a wedding after attending a show-around.
